Specially designed part delivers instant design advantages with immediate cost reduction

When a driveline components manufacturer in the automotive industry sought a solution to replace a welded assembly in one of their processes, RAMCO Europe came up with an innovative solution. The company, which has a regional design office in Alresford, Hampshire and manufacturing at its factory in Italy, designed and developed a single cold formed component which replaced the customer’s current welded assembly. By designing the new component, it allowed the automotive manufacturer to completely eliminate the assembly process previously required, speeding up production and removing a costly secondary welding operation.

Commenting on the application, RAMCO UK’s Sales Engineer Simon Beauchamp observed “In addition to being able to produce what we believe are the largest cold-formed parts in Europe we also have a team of experienced engineers that work with customer design teams to provide bespoke solutions that improve product performance and reduce costs”. RAMCO has an extensive customer list across Europe encompassing the defence, general industrial, agricultural and construction markets in addition to automotive sector.
